Cersaie 2020 was originally all set to take place from 28 September to 2 October in Bologna, Italy. Officials now announce that the date for the international exhibition is 42 days past the original one.
Details on the rescheduled event
The Bologna Exhibition Centre will be hosting the Cersaie 2020 from 9 November to 13 November. The finalisation and announcement of the decision come from Confindustria Ceramica and EdiCer Spa after discussions on the situation.
Although Italy enters phase two of the lockdown, which allows a certain business to open and relaxation of the restrictions. The event organisers feel that this could help them enhance the quality of the event even more.
Even though the show is not taking place according to plan, officials assure the attendees that the events and appointments that attract a large crowd shall remain the same. The exhibition is a highly-anticipated one in the architecture and design, bathroom furnishings and ceramics.
Reasons for this
The General Manager of BolognaFiere, Antonio Bruzzone speaks about the importance of rescheduling the event. As a health crisis takes over the globe, Bruzzone stresses on the need to adopt safety protocols to ensure the safety of the exhibitor and attendees.
Another factor influencing this decision is the availability of Hall 37 for the major industry event. The authorities were not confident in the completion of the new hall as all construction work has stopped in Italy.
As the majority of the public remain at home, Cersaie is making the best out of their YouTube channel. The channel is hosting a virtual talk with many architecture and design firms. They have also invited keynote speakers from the earlier show such as Kazuyo Sejima, and Renzo Piano to speak.
