Turner Furniture, a Tifton-based Company, announces the temporary shut down its stores due to coronavirus outbreak. The company has a total of 11 showrooms across multiple cities, including North Florida and Georgia.
The stores will be shut down will be from 20th March 2020 to 5th April 2020. Turner Furniture is approx 105 years old, and this will be the first time they are closing their operations entirely.
What Did Fortson Turner Say About The Temporary Shutdown?
The company owner, Fortson Turner said that it was a hard decision to make as it affect so many people, including customers, families, and company employees. However, they are prioritizing the well-being and safety of the community, customers, and employees.
Also, the company will continue to pay salaries to its employees even during the shutdown. Apart from the above, the company’s delivery and operation centers work with limited operations until the shutdown. Also, the management team and other employees will work from home during the temporary store closing.
The objective of remote working is to maintain communications with the company’s employees and customers.

Austin Turner, Fortson Turner’s brother, said that we want to thank our employees for their dedication and commitment toward the company and our customers. Without their work, it would not be possible to maintain the company’s financial stability.

Also, we will get through this national health crisis together as we had in the past since existence. Turner Furniture joins the unwanted list of closing stores along with Chick-fil-A. Many companies have asked their employees to work from home.
Other companies whose employees are not working from home are still paying their employees because of the shutdown.
