They announce that the highly-anticipated event will be later in the year 2021. The reason for this is the COVID-19 pandemic and the restrictions around the same.

About the show

The architecture exhibition is titled as “How will we live together?” with Hashim Sarkis as the curator.

Originally, from 29 August 2020 until 29 November 2020 were the dates. Now the show will be from 22 May 2021 through 21 November 2021.

More postponement

Simultaneously, the public also receives the announcement of The Venice Biennale taking place in 2022.

As they could not hold the 17th international architecture exhibition this year and instead had to push the schedule for 2021; there is a postponement in the art exhibition as well.

The 59th international art exhibition, originally to take place in 2021, will now take place in 2022. The exhibition has the official dates of 23 April 2022 to 27 November 2022.

A new documentary sees its screening by Documenta 15 every five years in Kassel, Germany. It is a European art exhibition. The document will coincide with the art exhibition as it will open in the summer of 2022. The Lyon Biennale will also take place in 2022.

Despite these announcements, The Venice Film Festival will take place 2 September to 12 September this year as announced by the Biennale.

The president of the Venice Biennale, Roberto Cicutto and the artistic director of the next Venice Biennale, Cecilia Alemani both spoke regarding this. They both are regretful for the delay although they acknowledge that it is for the best.
